EDITOR’S NOTE: The following letter to the editor by frequent — and long-time — Daily Planet contributor Richard D. Pope of Hendersonville, N.C., is being run as a guest column because of its length.

Regular letter to the editor contributor Jake Pickering, who contributes to every issue of the Daily Planet, has gone two issues of the Daily Planet without any letters of his being published in the Daily Planet — and is probably wondering why.

Especially since Jake Pickering is the most gifted and beloved letter contributor!

There mght be an unadvertised limit in the number of letters to the editor that writers are allowed each year?

If so, it has never been put in the paper! And writers have never been warned.

Very conveniently, the paper has not published my letters showing that when it comes to pedophilia, there are two sides to every story — and pedophiles certainly have theirs!

Pedophilia is the white elephant in the room and is a frequent taboo subject. 

But I contributed a couple letters to the editor to the Daily Planet that point out that there are two sides to every story! And pedophiles certainly have their side!

Pedophilia hurts a child’s delicate psyche, opponents say.

As if living in an America that has become the hellish and nightmarish dystopia long foreseen by science-fiction writers and futurists and Hollywood movie directors doesn’t!

Pedophilia hurts a child’s fragile psyche, claims its opponents! As if modern technology and social media don’t!

There is a new Special Edition magazine that reports that, as soon as Elon Musk’s muscles neuralink (connecting the human brain to computers) becomes marketed, children will have their brains connected to a computer and children will become cyborgs — and part human and part machine! 

Isn’t that worse than pedophilia???!!!

Huh? Huh?

If you say “no,” you’re nuts!

I hope the Daily Planet publishes my letters to the editor on pedophilia, so that you will have a better, more balanced perspective on pedophilia.

My final words on the subject are that you (the Daily Planet) have transformed America into a DYSTOPIA!

So your “take” on pedophilia is warped.

And because you have turned a once-great America into a DYSTOPIA, you should not be allowed to judge pedophiles!
