“Arnold’s musical journey began in the 1950s, when he and his brother Leroy fashioned a guitar from a steel gas can, broomsticks, wood, nails and screen wire,” Wikipedia stated.
In high school, Arnold’s first band, J. Floyd & the Shamrocks, included a young (future soul music icon) James Brown on piano. He moved to Chicago in 1965 and (blues icon) Muddy Waters reportedly hired him on the spot. He toured and recorded with the Muddy Waters Band and recorded LPs with Otis Spann and John Lee Hooker... His television work also included a four-year gig as part of the set band on “Soul Train.”
