Wiley Cash and several student-athletes will hold what is being billed as "a robust discussion about the pressures and expectations of life" as a student-athete at UNC Asheville at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in the Manheimer Room at UNC Asheville's Reuter Center, according to a UNCA press release.

The program, "I Came As a Shadow," is part of the Common Word Community Read series. 

"You might know these young people from the classroom, the court, or the community, but you might not know the full complexity of their lives and the responsibilities and challenges they face every day," the release stated.

Cash, a New York Times bestselling author, is UNCA's Alum Writer-in-Residence.
