We vigorously agree with the assessment that the 2006 dystopian comedy “Idiocracy,” which critiques the nonsense of the modern world and where everyone becomes progressively more stupid. now feels more like a documentary, as expressed by the film’s creator Mike Judge in a July 18, 2021 interview in The (London) Guardian. 

The Guardian piece began with profound questions asked by interviewer Luke Buckmaster, such as: “Are we living in the age of stupid? The era of the idiot? The answer, of course, is yes, with examples of monstrous moronicism everywhere..’.” 

And here we are in April 2025... and we find the theme of “Idiocracy” — a nation on its way to being populated by idiots — coming true.

For instance, a Yahoo News/YouGov survey states: “Two-thirds of Americans now say they wouldn’t drive a Tesla — and most of them cite Elon Musk as the reason why,” Yahoo News reported on March 26.

Further, the tech billionaire’s popularity has plummeted since he launched the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the survey claims. 

And the survey is backed in the real world by plentiful examples — at least at the moment — of arson attacks on Teslas, Tesla dealerships and, in a few cases, on Tesla owners, almost always by left-leaning elitists. 

“For months, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has waged war on the federal bureaucracy as head of President Trump’s DOGE — canceling contracts, terminating leases, firing civil servants, blocking payments and dismantling America’s top foreign aid agency,” Yahoo News reported Musk also has received countless death threats.

A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll claims Musk’s cost-cutting activities, at Trump’s behest, have done little to endear him — or his electric cars — to the public, even though one would think that cutting government waste, fraud and abuse would be appreciated by American taxpayers and retirees who, as a nation, are facing — possibly — ruinous debt. 

As for Musk, we think he merits hero status rather than hatred by — arguably — the most brainwashed and poorly educated Americans in history.
