We live in a nation where about half — or better — don’t know what it means to be an American.
They don’t realize that the purpose of elections is to settle — bloodlessly — national disputes.
Elections exist to peacefully preserve the republic, the country, the quality of life for the people.
They don’t understand the importance of a free, unbiased press — the job of which is to inform the truth to citizens, so they can make good decisions.
The purpose of an education in a republic is to raise citizens, so that they can accurately analyze information reported to them by the press and make good decisions.
I believe all of this is being distorted.
The Constitution is the law that guarantees fairness to all citizens. Without a guaranteed and preserved fairness, our country will be torn apart from the inside.
It seems to me that, often, legal immigrants understand this better than native citizens born in this country.
If so, they often are our better patriots.
Hell, they should be, they choose to be here — and must pass a test on what is means to be an American to stay here.
People who rig elections are traitors.
Journalists who fail to do their jobs are also traitors.
It is our job as citizens to seek out the truth and make good, informed decisions.
We owe that to our fellow citizens — not to political parties.
Politicians who spread lies and distort this system are also traitors.
What do you expect with statements like:
• “He (former president Donald Trump) is a threat to democracy.”
• “It is time to put him (Trump) in a bull’s-eye.”
In my mind, they are not Americans. They are self-serving crooks who steal from their fellow citizens in an attempt to maintain their graft.
