Joe ‘Robespierre’ Biden’s anti-MAGA rant heralds a new ‘Reign of Terror" — Where do we go from here? And why I am not a MAGA Republican? (It has nothing to do with fear)

“And Robespierre, the Incorruptible, who loved us so much he cut off our heads so we would not be troubled by too many thoughts.”
— From Jennifer Donnelly’s novel “Revolution”

President” Biden’s anti-MAGA rant the other night (Sept. 3) was one of the bizarrest moments in American history and I worked for a member of the Senate Watergate Committee and was present in the House Judiciary Committee hearing room when the first article of Impeachment was reported out against President Nixon.

Biden’s speech was billed as a speech addressing the “soul of the Nation,” yet it actually proved to be a speech bent on destroying that very soul.

Delivered from the sacred ground of Independence Hall, there was something oddly ghoulish about the whole affair.

The scene opened with the “president” and Dr. Jill marching solemnly toward the podium to the noble strains of “Hail to the Chief,” with a blood-red background dripping behind them and two Marines at attention saluting him and then morphing into two ominous dark shadows as Joe began his speech.

It was like a scene out of a Vincent Price “B” horror movie.

“Too much of what is happening in our country today,” Mr. Biden hoarsely intoned “is not normal.”

That’s right Joe….It’s the “new normal” and above its gates should be inscribed the words: “Abandon all hope ye who enter here… but at least we’re all in this together.”

His speech was a clear statement of his “woke” Jacobin Club’s intention to remain in power by any means necessary heralding a new “Reign of Terror.” They are no friends of freedom and democracy.

In his speech, Biden made a lot of noise about the sacred nature of our Constitution, but it was much ado about nothing.

I would ask him why there are still  people sitting in jail, without having had a fair trial, for supposedly participating in a rally on January 6th 2021 at the U.S. Capitol?

Is that constitutional?

Biden warned of democracy’s collapse even as his speech, brimming with faux patriotism, concealed an inner message of hatred and intolerance proving that he is actually the agent of that collapse.

I think it is illogical to assume that MAGA Repuclicans, in general, are insurrectionists or terrorists.

The captive media outlets may spew this nonsense for that is what they get paid to do.

I know many Republicans who support Trump and they do not want insurrection; they simply want to be heard and they feel that America has lost its sense of greatness.

Is that a crime?

The notion that they are domestic terrorists is a carefully crafted lie that has its roots in the staged ‘insurrection’ of January 6th, 2021.

I am an independent with no great affection for President Trump. I also worked in the House and the Senate and I can say, without equivocation, that the Capitol building is one of the most secure buildings in the world.

There is no way that any group, no matter the size or temperament, could penetrate the building unless they were allowed to do so.

The myth of Jan 6th is the well-spring of deception from which Biden’s speech draws its false premises.

Many people in America may hold on to a patriotic sense of nationalism with a nostalgia for times past, but that does not mean that they are violent revolutionaries or even MAGA Republicans.

I am not a MAGA Republican — and I have the deepest respect for our democratic heritage.

I oppose the Biden program not with violence, but with words.

I do believe, based on the evidence that I have seen, that there were significant irregularities in the 2020 presidential election.

Does that make me a terrorist or a white supremecist?

When I grew up, America was an industrial powerhouse. We had a robust economy based on the production of real goods and services well before we became a fast food nation.

In the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s, we had not yet become a weak, sick nation of couch potatoes.

What does America produce of value today?

Obesity, disease, death and beyond burgers.

Let’s face it, we cannot go back to the way things were because they weren’t that great and that is my fundamental difference with MAGA Republicans.

Biden’s speech questioned the kind of a future we want to have.

We do need to consider the question of where we want to go from here?

Each of us should reflect deeply on this question. Our very future depends on it.

As Biden and Dr. Jill strolled off the stage to the beautiful yet somber strains of “My Country Tis of Thee,” a tear came to my eye as I realized — once and for all that our country was truly being laid to rest.

Perhaps Marines playing “Taps” in the background would have been a more appropriate ending.
