BLACK MOUNTAIN — Black Mountain is the “most charming small town” in North Carolina, award-winning travel media brand AFAR claims, according to a report in the July 10 edition of the Asheville Citizen Times.
Noting that it has published reports on other recent attention Black Mountain has received, the ACT stated, “In the past few months alone, the town has been labeled an underappreciated gem, the perfect place for a summer getaway, and more...”
The article in AFAR magazine, which listed choices for "most charming small town" in all 50 states, chose Black Mountain for the title in North Carolina for "whimsical galleries, live music and layer-cake mountain views.”
The ACT article added, “While the town is only about 20 minutes from Asheville, AFAR said it (Black Mountain) feels a world apart, with a population of only around 8,500 and ample opportunities for exploring the mountainous environment, viewing work from local artists and plenty more.”
