HENDERSONVILLE — U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards, a Henderson County Republican representing North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, announced his candidacy for a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a Nov. 16 press release.
Edwards, a Western North Carolina native and businessman, was elected to his first congression-al term in 2022, after serving three terms in the North Carolina Senate.
“His work ethic and business acumen were quickly recognized in Washington, D.C., where he secured positions on the House Budget, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Oversight and Government Accountability committees,” Edwards’ release stated.
Edwards added, “Representing the citizens of the very mountains where I was born, raised a family and built a business has been among the highest privileges of my life. My first term has been focused on proving myself in our nation’s capital, where I have secured strong committee appointments and have built a team to help make a difference in the lives of mountain families.”
