From Staff Reports

ARDEN — Biltmore Church's Arden campus canceled a Sunday morning service and evacuated the campus on Sept. 10 “after a reported security issue,” according to Asheville television station WLOS (News 13).

“The building was cleared around 10:45 a.m., as law enforcement searched the campus,” News 13 reported early on Sept. 11.

“According to an email sent out to the congregation, officials determined there was no longer any threat to the safety of the church members, and the individual involved in the incident had been identified.

“No other Biltmore Church campuses were affected by the issue, and the email stated that the Arden campus would resume a normal schedule on Monday (Sept. 11).

“The incident is being investigated by both state and federal law enforcement agencies,” News 13’s report concluded.
