Cawthorn case on possessing a weapon at airport continued

The case involving former U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn and a gun at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport has been continued, Asheville television station WLOS (News 13) reported on Jan. 13.

“Cawthorn was cited for possession of a dangerous weapon on city property after the TSA reported finding a loaded gun in his luggage in April 2022,” News 13 noted.

The citation is a misdemeanor.

“In court on Friday, Jan. 13, the case was continued to May 5, because the arresting officer was on family medical leave,” the News 13report concluded.
