A little less polarization, please!

Our current political environment is uncomfortable enough for most Americans without constant innuendo and negativity from the press and broadcast outlets.

The ongoing assault appears to be coming from both sides.

I, for one, would appreciate a more even and balanced coverage of the news and commentary from the Daily Planet and all media outlets, regardless of their personal convictions and attempts to influence opinion.

I imagine many people would prefer the rhetoric toned down and the finger-pointing to stop; all the discord and anger among the populace does not help solve our problems.

Those who serve at every level of our government should be encouraged and commended rather than vilified and criticized for simply trying to do what they believe is the next right thing for the citizens of the USA.

Regardless of who wins in November, I hope that each elected official, through finding common ground, will attempt  to make our great country a better, more perfect union — and that we all work together to create a better future for the next generations to come.

Google the book “The Soul of Civility” by Alexandra Hudson. Essential reading at this point in America.

Fox mis-reports that blacks faced less terror than Jews, activistv says

EDITOR’S NOTE: A copy of the following letter to Fox News was sent to the Daily Planet by its author and it appears here because of its relevance.
As a black Southern heritage activist who has tired of seeing black folk used as a weapon of choice against the Southern white man, it is just as disconcerting to see the reporters of your (Fox News) station using them as falsely... as you (Fox News) report that they somehow did not face the kinds of terror that the Jewish students now face on campuses, as they face antisemitism.

Let me remind you of the water hoses, rubber hoses, nightsticks, cross burnings, threats of death — and murders. And not to forget a governor (Alabama Governor George Wallace in 1963) standing at a schoolhouse door proclaiming segregation now and forever.

What your little Jewish babies are facing now compares to what black babies faced is like a picnic with the pope.

It is only now that, as black folk reach back for the honor that we earned beside our Southern white family, times are getting better for us — and most of us (black folk) pray that the Jewish people will find the same.

Musk, ‘world’s smartest man,’ perfect choice for next president, reader says

Upon reflection and, upon further consideration, perhaps Elon Musk should become our next president.

Elon Musk has spent decades being convinced that we are trapped in an evil video game, and that all of our troubles as a nation — and as individuals — are rooted in our being immersed within an evil video game being played by evil players!

And Musk says that were he to become president, he would seek to break us out of the evil video game — and free us!

So perhaps Elon Musk is exactly what we need in the White House.

If Elon Musk is right about our being trapped in a matrix-like video game, then Elon Musk is the perfect person to be our next president and no one else can do.

Elon Musk is billed as being “the smartest person in the world.”

So even if Elon Musk is wrong about our being trapped inside an evil video game being played by an eviler gamer or gamers, it seems right having the smartest man in the world in the White House.
