What to make of the Dems’ (and GOP’s) response to Trump’s amazing victory?

Lately, I have been thinking about two things... the election results... and the Democrats’ resistance to the in-coming Trump administration.

One side is bragging, which, considering the magnitude of the Republicans’ win, we are entitled to do.

However, I am not sure it will serve any purpose, as the object is to win more people over to the Republican side.

The other thought centers on Democrats’ resistance, or election denial, which seems minimal at this point.

I believe their (the Democrats’) leaders have all been toppled by this election and neither they, nor their legacy media, have credibility with the majority of the American people.

Using a sports term, I don’t they “have a bench” — at least not a credible bench.

Still you have the ignorant who are living in the cave who can’t (or refuse to) see the “rational light.”

It is hopeless to try and show them the light. They choose to be stupid — and that can’t be educated away.

The other thought is the Democrats’ blame game. They are turning against themselves, blaming each other and the Democratic Party leaders.

I think it is funny, as (former President Abraham) Lincoln said:

“You can’t fool all the people all of the time.”

Democrat leaders just don’t understand that you can’t keep lying to the people. I think it goes back to the idea that facts are stubborn things — and, as I have written many times, “it is pretty hard to cover up the price of eggs and gasoline.”

Most people readily see and understand that.

Harder issues to get acknowledgment from the “cave people” is no Southern border, and the commensurate crime, with a reduction in the value of our American citizenship.

Another is America’s credibility in the world and our national security, and that we were closer to World War III than we have been since the 1963 Cuban missile crisis.

Finally, there is a lesson in this that Republicans may have learned and that is it takes all of us to make this country work — all sexes, all ethnic groups.

In my opinion... that is Trumpism. That is the “death knell” for the Democratic Party, including its coastal elites, big corporations, sexists and racists.

When we realize that we are all Americans and that we must respect one and another, then we will be able to make this country work and survive as a nation.

We can’t accept division, as the hippies used to sing (in the 1967 song “Get Together” by the Youngbloods):

“Come on, people now

“Smile on your brother

“Everybody get together

“Try to love one another right now....”

America belongs to the citizen. It is “We The People!”
