From Staff Reports

HENDERSONVILLE — Burntshirt Vineyards near Hendersonville will be offering fall — and Halloween — activities, the vineyards recently announced.

Located at 2695 Sugarloaf Road, Burnshirt’s 30 acres of vineyards  produce 13 European varietals and French-American hybrids at altitudes from 2,200 to 3,400 feet above sea level in Western North Carolina.

Among the highlights of the fall activity schedule is line dance lessons, which will be held 5-6 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. Oct. 25 for $25 per person. The teacher will be Lisa Konczal, a professional dancer, singer actress and photographer. (Another class on Oct. 11 already is booked up.)

The classes will be held outside — down by the barn and meadows area. The lessons will be limited to 50 people for each time slot. Attendees reportedly will have plenty of room to spread out to dance — or individuals may choose to sit at nearby tables, tap their feet, drink wine and watch the dancers.

Class participants may be dancing in the grass nearby or even in the barn, depending on capacity. Vineyard officials noted that all class attendees will be required to wear a mask for closer conversations.

As for Halloween-related activities, the vineyards will debut “A Spooky Evening, Paint and Pour” from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 for fun with a Halloween theme. An attendant with an art degree will lead a creative evening, enabling guests to paint a canvas, as they sip some wine. The event will be held on the terrace inside the summit event center. Tickets are $30 for the general public and $25 for wine club members. The tickets will cover canvas, pre-poured paint and brushes, along with a free glass of apple wine.

The vineyards noted that tables will be spaced apart to allow for social distancing and only a limited number of tickets will be sold.
