From Staff Reports

HENDERSONVILLE — The Center for Art & Entertainment “is preparing to open during the state’s Phase 3 reopening in July with modified seating for social distancing and other safety adjustments,” the CAE announced May 29.

The center, located at at 125 S. Main St. in downtown Hendersonville, “is following theater safety protocols provided by the Broadway League and WYNN Las Vegas, in addition to 6-foot seat distancing,” the press release stated.

“We are fortunate that our seats are moveable,” Managing Director Jeanie Linders said in the release. “We have reconfigured our seating capacity to 50 percent, adding tables to maintain the ‘theatrical experience’ in a club-like setting for downtown Hendersonville.

“With innovative programming and safety protocols in place, we are excited to re-open our doors within the Phase 3 rollout in July.”

The release added that other safety protocols for the public include:

• Pre-show 6-foot standing areas prior to building entry and a 6-foot exit strategy.

• No pre-show lobby gathering or beverage service; handicapped seating will be allowed early entry. Attendees must make arrangements at time of ticket purchase.

• Each sanitized theater seating area will have drink pre-order forms with drinks delivered by gloved, masked servers to seated guests; drinks can be ordered throughout the performances.

• Complimentary masks upon building entry; masks are not optional at this time.

As of the Daily Planet’s presstime, a listing of the CAE’s 2020 shows was not yet available on its website at www.thecenterae.org.
